Barcelona's Villa released from hospital

Barcelona striker David Villa has been released from hospital after suffering from kidney stone pain, the club said on Tuesday.

"Villa was taken into Barcelona hospital on Monday due to a nephritic (renal) colic. The player has undergone treatment to eliminate the kidney stone and has received the all-clear to leave hospital," said a statement on the club's website.

"Villa will rejoin training on Wednesday and how he develops will decide whether he will be available for the next match against Granada."

The Spanish international, 31, played the full 90 minutes for just the second time in the league this season on Sunday and scored as Barca destroyed Getafe 6-1.
