Jessica Amornkuldilok of Thailand has won the first season of the TV reality show Asia's Next Top Model.

In the final on Sunday night broadcast from Hong Kong, Jessica beat out co-finalists Kate Ma from Taiwan, and Stephanie Retuya from the Philippines. Ten other models were eliminated in previous weeks.

Jessica won $100,000 (3 million baht) as the top prize, along with a Subaru XV.

But she also won a number of prizes that give the 27-year-old a chance to break into big-time modelling.

She will be the face of the Canon IXUS 2013 campaign, receive a cover feature with Harper's Bazaar magazine (left), as well as a modeling contract with Storm Model Management in the UK and Europe.

"Jessica has the potential to take the modeling world by storm," said the chief judge of the show, Nadya Hutagalung. "She has a natural presence on camera and is able to show her personality on the runway."

The TV series was an adaptation of the original America's Next Top Model, created by supermodel Tyra Banks and broadcast for several years in the US.
