Officers from all 50 districts travelled to the Interior Ministry's printing house in Lum Luk Ka district on Friday to pick up the ballots.

Police officers were deployed at the printing house to supervise the procedure.

Each district employee underwent a body scan and was required to present identification and verification documents.

The Provincial Administration Department said each district office would stamp the ballots to make them official and would keep them safe by using closed-circuit cameras and assigning security officers.

A total of 4,251,367 people are eligible to vote in the Bangkok governor election. Authorities have printed 4.55 million ballots. Bangkok elections generally attract voter turnout below 60%.
