iPad Mini thieves caught in Pattaya

Pattaya police on Saturday arrested two men accused of attacking a tourist on a beach and stealing his iPad Mini, 13,000 baht in cash and two cell phones.

Pol Lt Col Anek Srathongyu of Muang Pattaya police said the two suspects were named as Preecha Klaisuwan, 21, and Saharat Sakdinanuwat, 18.

Jirapong Jamnian, the victim, 19, told police that one of the two men hit him in the head with a wooden stick while he was resting on a beach playing his tablet computer.

The suspects then stole his tablet, wallet with 13,000 baht inside and two mobile phones, and fled.

Teams of police were dispatched to different cell phone shops in Pattaya, anticipating that Mr Preecha and Mr Saharat would come to sell the stolen items soon.
