Poll: B2 trln loan bill top of news

People are most interested in the news on the government's 2-trillion-baht loan bill over other political news, Suan Dusit Poll revealed on Sunday.

Asked to mention five topics of news currently in their interests, 45.68% of the respondents said they were intested in the news on the 2-trillion-baht loan bill, followed by 18.51% in the talks between the Thai delegation and the Barisan Revolusi Nasional (BRN) and other separatist groups, 15.02% in constitutional amendment, 13.51% in the new Bangkok governor, and 7.28% in corruption in various government projects.

Most, or 41.20%, of those interested in the 2.2-trillion-baht loan bill said they paid much attention on it because it involves a huge sum of money for the development of transport infrastructure, 37.45% said they were afraid there would be corruption in the spending of the funds, and 21.35% said the bill concerns every Thai people.

The poll was conducted between Mar 25-30 on 1,516 people throughout the country.
