SATUN - Excise officials have seized 75,000 packs of cigarettes from a boat attempting to smuggle the cargo into Thailand.
The contraband was found on the P. Adisak, a vessel with dual Thai-Malaysian nationality, off Koh Sam in the Andaman Sea, in Muang district, Excise Department chief Somchai Poolsavadi said on Thursday.
Three crewmen - Ma-ea Masuree, Dawuth Bilingload and Veeravat Munyamin - were charged with trying to evade excise tax and fined a total of 161 million baht.
