Jelik stretch Samui lead

SAMUI : Frank Pong's Jelik of Hong Kong stretched their lead in the IRC Zero after three days at the Samui Regatta yesterday.

Jelik struggled in yesterday's first race won by Antipodes ahead of the Royal Malaysian Navy, skippered by Mohamad Razali Mansor. Sam Chan's Freefire (Hong Kong) were third.

Jelik returned to form in the second race taking their sixth win from seven starts for an eight-point lead in the overall standings.

In the IRC One, Walawala 2 of Singapore, skippered by Steve Manning, could only manage two fifth-place finishes. Bill Bremner's Foxy Lady 6, also of Singapore, took the overall lead.

In the IRC Two, Australian Matt Allen's Ichi Ban won both races to remain leaders ahead of Thailand's El Coyote, skippered by Pattaya-based Gary Baguley.

In the Multihull Class, Henry Kaye's Phuket-based Sweet Chariot of Thailand moved closer to leaders Miss Saigon skippered by David Liddell.
