Two Thai flight attendants were injured in the Asiana Airlines crash landing at San Francisco airport on Saturday, the Foreign Ministry has confirmed.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Surapong Tovichakchaikul said the two were identified only by their nicknames as "Mew" and "Eve".

Ms Mew suffered a dislocated shoulder, while Ms Eve was still in intensive care at Stanford Hospital, according to a representative from the Thai People Association in Northern California who visited both of them, Mr Surapong said.

An Asiana Airlines aircraft on Saturday slammed into the runway while landing at San Francisco airport and caught fire, forcing more than 300 passengers and crew to escape down the emergency slides.

Two teenage Chinese girls were killed in the crash and dozens of other people, including two children, were injured.
