Admission process to be revamped

Education Minister Chaturon Chaisaeng plans an overhaul of university admission criteria after finding the current screening incurs unnecessary expenses and causes inequality among students.

Mr Chaturon said he will discuss the proposal with the Council of University Presidents of Thailand.

The minister said the university admission process consists of too many criteria such as universities’ quotas, their direct exams, and scores on various external tests.
