From "Star Wars" to "Harry Potter," "Game of Thrones" or "The Big Bang Theory," geek culture is everywhere we look, and many elements of so-called geekiness are becoming increasingly mainstream. In order to highlight the best it has to offer in this area, YouTube will dedicate seven days to the subject for "Geek Week", when it will offer playlists of the best videos related to all things geeky.
YouTube will hold Geek Week from August 4-10, 2013.
Altogether, over 100 channels will be featured through a selection of YouTube cult classics, as well as new videos created for the occasion.
Each day is dedicated to a different theme:
August 4: Blockbuster Sunday (iconic characters, films and themes beloved by geeks);
August 5: Global Geekery Monday (geek culture around the world)
August 6: Brainiac Tuesday (science, education and knowledge)
August 7: Super Wednesday (superheros and the supernatural)
August 8: Gaming Thursday (video games)
August 9: Fan Friday (fans step up to take the spotlight)
August 10: Best of Geek Week Saturday
