Narathiwat bomb wounds four

A bomb wounded four soldiers, two of them seriously, in Tak Bai district of Narathiwat province on Saturday morning, police said.

The incident occurred at about 9am while eight soldiers from Narathiwat Task Force 31 were patrolling on four motorcycles, said Pol Lt Col Chaiyos Phophim, a duty officer at Tak Bai police station.

While the patrol was approaching Ban Charo in tambon Phraiwan, a home-made bomb planted in the road was detonated remotely with a radio by militants hiding nearby.

Four soldiers were wounded. They were Chief Warrant Officer Thirasak Kaew-in and Pvt Prawit Khamma-i, who were seriously wounded in the legs, Pvt Arthit Boonthon and Pvt Ekarat Chuchuen. 

They were admitted to Narathiwat Ratchanakarin Hospital.
