AMNAT CHAROEN – A 16-year-old vocational student was severely beaten up by the deputy director of his school for wearing shoes to class that violated the school’s dress code, a report said on Thursday.
The teenager was attacked on Aug 13, said Aonsee Buaparuang, a member of the Amnat Charoen Provincial Administrative Organisation.
The report said the deputy director used his fists, feet, knees and elbows in the savage attack.
The student suffered severe bruising and was taken to the hospital.
The victim’s family filed a complaint at Amnat Charoen police station.
Mr Aonsee said he tried to contact the headmaster of the state-owned vocational school, demanding compensation for the student's injuries ,but so far there had been no response.
He said teachers who visited the victim in the hospital told he was not the first student to be assaulted by the deputy head teacher. One was a female student.
They also told him they wanted the abusive deputy head teacher out of the school, he said.
Mr Aonsee said he would accompany the victim and his family to confront his attacker. If the man refused to show accountability he would request help from the governor of Amnat Charoen.
