The Rights and Liberties Protection Department on Wednesday paid financial compensation to two wrongly-accused criminal suspects who spent more than a year behind bars while their trials progressed.
Sanoh Inphrom, 50, spent 926 days in prison before he was acquitted of murder due to a lack of evidence, department director-general Narach Sawettanont said.
He received 370,800 baht in compensation.
Anukul Nithinusakorn, 36, was detained for 554 days before he was proved innocent in a drug trafficking case, Pol Col Narach said.
Mr Anukul was at work when police found his ID card during a crackdown on a drug gang, Pol Col Narach said, citing the court ruling.
The card had been lost earlier and was picked up by a drug dealer who used it for illegal purposes, he said.
Mr Anukul received 316,450 baht in compensation.
