Reports said flood levels had reached one metre in some areas of Pattaya. Pattaya Nua, Sukhumvit and Pattaya Tai roads were flooded and impassable by small vehicles.

Police, disaster prevention and mitigation officials and volunteers were working together to quickly drain water and facilitate traffic flow.

The reports said flood levels had started receding on Tuesday morning.

In Prachin Buri's Muang municipality, Kabin Buri and Sri Maha Phot districts, flooding had started to subside, as crews used pumps and sandbags to fight rising waters.

Water levels should return to normal in the next couple of days, provided there is no more heavy rain, officials said.
