Northeast land prices skyrocket

Prices of prime land in the Northeast have increased by 30% on average after the government announced infrastructure improvement plans, a Legal Execution Department official said.

Department deputy director-general Att Attanont said many investors have shown interest in investing in the Northeast, particularly in Khon Kaen and Udon Thani provinces.

Prices of prime land in the 20 northeastern provinces have jumped by an average of 30% in the past year. In Khon Kaen, land prices have increased by 50% and in Udon Thani by 100%.

Mr Att spoke after taking department officials to inspect properties designated for foreclosure in Khon Kaen and Udon Thani provinces. The assets will be sold at auction in the new few weeks.
