Alongkorn Ponlaboot, a member of National Reform Council (NRC) and former deputy leader of the Democrat Party, on Wednesday announced he will resign from Thailand’s oldest political party to avoid conflict of interests and ensure his credibility as an NRC member.

In an ongoing press conference held at parliament, Mr Alongkorn told reporters he will tender his resignation with the party tomorrow.
He stressed that his decision to resign had no other political agendas except to avoid conflict of interests between his roles as Democrat party member and NRC member.
