A range of toys and video games based on Disney and Pixar animated movies has been unveiled, with 17 character figures to collect, and a June 2013 release date.

Up to two Disney Infinity toys can interact with the associated video game by means of an Infinity Base.
Additional circular and hexagonal Power Discs can be placed upon the Infinity Base to unlock extra abilities and items within the game.
As with Activision's range of Skylanders toys and games, which first launched in October 2011 and had generated over $500 million by November 2012, "Disney Infinity" will be launching in multiple formats: on Wii, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii U, Nintendo 3DS, and Windows PC as well as mobile devices.
Disney's initial press release also confirms Avalanche Software as game developer and a Toy Box mode as a main attraction -- significant, given that Avalanche was behind the video game tie-in for "Toy Story 3," whose free-form Toy Box mode was highly praised, its engaging scope even compared to that of a "Grand Theft Auto" title, however unlikely that may seem on the face of things.
