A fantasy for little MMORPG tycoons

Whizzkid entrepreneur Itthipat "Tob" Peeradechapan, founder of the well-known Tao Kae Noi fried seaweed snack, is now pursuing his passion and joining the realm of online gaming.

He has joined forces with his older brother Nutchatpong, the CEO of Gen C Inspire, on Fantasy Saga, the MMORPG (massively multiplayer online role-playing game) centred on the battle between nature and monsters.

Fantasy Saga is the second Gen C Inspire game following King Of Soldiers, which was launched few months ago and now has over 100,000 followers.

Itthipat and Nutchatpong have been avid gamers since childhood and setting up a game company has been one of their dreams.

"The letter C in the name of the company stands for 'connect', as we would like to connect the new generation to inspire them," explained Itthipat. He said that he benefited from playing online games, noting that it was the money he made from computer games that enabled him to buy an 8,000 baht pair of shoes. Online games offer the opportunity to get creative.

"A decade ago Thai people never knew chat messaging, but they have been into games for a long time. Korean and Japanese programmers have applied them in Line and WhatsAapp," the young tycoon said. In the world of online games, fans can assume new identities, they can be a merchant, a tennis player or whatever _ they know what kind of person they would like to be or know what they want to be. Another opportunity offered by online gaming is communicating with society.

Fantasy Saga is like Tao Kae Noi, cute with a beautiful atmosphere. The game has an entrepreneurial spirit so players can practice their business skills.

"It was my intention to create a culture of creative game-playing. MMORPGs let the imagination run free and Fantasy Saga features merchants, so players can also learn about being an entrepreneur. Once the game finishes, it's not just fun, but players have the skills of a merchant," said Itthipat.

The game is offered in a co-promotion with Tao Kae Noi. The packets of seaweed snacks have an item code so players can trade items in the game. This campaign is part of creating gamer awareness.

Fantasy Saga is initially targeted at Thai gamers but will soon be launched overseas as the company has partnerships in many countries.
