Malaysian embassy hosts Penang Street Food Festival

The Embassy of Malaysia together with Kelab Thailand Malaysia (KMT) are holding the Penang Street Food Festival on Saturday at The Old Siam Plaza (Market, Level 3) from 11am to 6pm.

During the event, HE Datuk Jojie Samuel, ambassador of Malaysia to Thailand, and Dato' Tai Chong Yih, president of Kelab Malaysia of Thailand, will preside over the opening ceremony at 11am followed by a Malay dance performance at 11.30am.

There will be a live cooking demonstration for char kuey teow, a stir-fried rice noodle dish, at noon followed by an Indian dance performance at 1pm. The event's afternoon programme also features a cooking demonstration for asam laksa, a tangy and spicy Malaysian fish-based rice noodle soup; kerabu bihun, a rice vermicelli dish; and nasi ulam, steamed rice served with various herbs and vegetables.

There will also be a Chinese dance performance and the Malaysia Truly Asia dance show.
