Emirates has reopened its premium passenger lounge at Bangkok's Suvarnabhumi airport after a 76.4-million-baht makeover.

The lounge has grown in size and sophistication, with total floor space expanded to 809 square metres from 516 sq m, while seating capacity increased to 202, allowing it to serve about 450 customers a day.

Brought into service recently after a one-month closure, the refurbishment is the second for the facility after a previous makeover in 2014, said Emirates Thailand.

Originally opened in 2007 after Suvarnabhumi went into service, the lounge is the latest to benefit from Emirates' ongoing 12-billion-baht investment in upgrading its 41 dedicated airport lounges around the world.

Designed in line with Emirates' contemporary and fresh lounge concept, with bespoke artwork and furnishings, the Bangkok lounge offers a view of the airport garden at the west wing.

In addition to Bangkok and the seven lounges at its hub at Dubai airport, Emirates also has dedicated lounges at Auckland, Beijing, Birmingham, Boston, Brisbane, Cape Town, Colombo, Delhi, Dusseldorf, Frankfurt, Glasgow, Hamburg, Hong Kong, Istanbul, Johannesburg, Kuala Lumpur, London Gatwick, London Heathrow, Los Angeles, Manchester, Melbourne, Milan, Munich, Narita, New York JFK, Paris Charles de Gaulle, Perth, Rome, San Francisco, Shanghai, Singapore, Sydney and Zurich. The lounges represent an investment of over US$350 million (12 billion baht).

Emirates offers seven flights per day from Suvarnabhumi to Dubai airport.
