Krungthai Bank named Thailand’s derivatives house of the year at AsiaRisk Awards 2024

Krungthai Bank, with its success in developing money and capital market products and services that address financial risk and investment return management, has won the "Derivatives House of the Year, Thailand" award at the AsiaRisk Awards 2024, organized by Risk.net, a leading global platform for financial risk management. The award recognizes Krungthai Bank's excellent derivative solution offerings to both Thai juristic investors and high-net-worth individuals.

Rawin Boonyanusasna, Head of Global Markets Group at Krungthai Bank, stated that the AsiaRisk Awards are prestigious accolades given to financial institutions and companies that excel in risk management and financial innovation in the region. This award reflects Krungthai Bank's outstanding success in developing financial innovations that truly address the needs of clients, particularly medium-sized businesses and large corporations dealing with risks from the volatility of exchange rates, interest rate trends, and commodity prices. The clients’ main purpose for using these financial tools is to manage risks, costs, loans, and liquidity.

Krungthai Bank is a market leader in money and capital market solutions. With its expert analysts, the bank is able to tailor and offer unique solutions to businesses. For example, Krungthai Bank, partnering with PTT Group, was the first to offer hedging and interest-rate derivatives linked to ESG targets. Moreover, the bank’s Green Investment program addresses the companies’ targets in managing returns from liquidity and carbon neutrality. In this investment management program, the bank offers carbon credit, contingent on the companies meeting their emissions reduction targets. By doing so, the bank is supporting businesses in becoming sustainable organizations by integrating ESG performance criteria into its solutions.

In addition, Krungthai Bank is constantly pioneering new forms of investment on digital platforms, making investment more inclusive for Thai people. Notable ones include the development of Government Bond Wallet (Sor Bor Mor Wallet) on the Paotang mobile application, democratizing investment in government savings bonds. Other innovations include the Bond Wallet and Gold Wallet. The bank has also pioneered the issuance of structured notes that allow investors to benefit from upward market trends while protecting 100% of the principal at maturity, addressing clients' concerns about the volatility of global markets after the

COVID-19 crisis. As a result, Krungthai Bank has become one of the top structured note issuers, and its structured notes have been well-received among investors.

The “Derivatives House of the Year, Thailand” award marks a new chapter in Krungthai Bank’s journey of developing financial innovations and solutions that cater to the needs of both juristic and retail investors. This award also reinforces the bank’s position as a leader in sustainable finance, aligning with its guiding theme of “Reshaping Client Value Proposition and Promoting Sustainability with Innovation.”
