The Royal Bangkok Symphony Orchestra's (RBSO) "Search For Talent" vocal competition is back for a fifth season with applications being accepted until Sept 6.

Since its inception, the purpose of the competition has been to find talented young singers in Thailand, aged between eight and 16 years (born between 2004-2012) to perform with the RBSO in its annual "Concert In The Park Series" and possibly in another indoor concert in mid-2021 at Thailand Cultural Centre.

It is one of the only vocal competitions in Thailand that is solely focused on the musical/cartoon repertoire, either from Broadway/West End stages, Hollywood musicals, and from best-loved cartoons from Disney and DreamWorks Animation. Past winners have gone on to perform on the local stage as well as abroad with one of them winning The Voice Kids competition.

The competition is open to Thai as well as non-Thai applicants (only from families with a resident permit). Applicants are required to submit one or two recorded clips as YouTube links through a Google form (with the link provided through the QR code).

The submission deadline is Sept 6 and results will be announced at the latest on Sept 9.

Around 30 first-round winners will be informed by email and invited to sing at the live audition round on Sept 12 in front of a panel of three judges at Chulalongkorn University. Six finalists will be picked to perform with the RBSO in the next season of "Concert In The Park".
