For the past 30 years, Assoc Prof Jirapat Pitpreecha has been creating abstract paintings, using quick, spontaneous brushstrokes to portray his feelings about his environment and Thai society in general.

For "Portraits Of Light", his 10th solo exhibition, Jirapat has selected 30-odd paintings created since 2009 to relate the journey he has made, both as an artist and a person, over the past four years. Inspired by both cityscapes and pastoral landscapes, he produces vibrant canvases of varying sizes that reflect his emotions and the moods, lighting and natural colours in which he has steeped himself.

H Project Space presents the first solo exhibition in Thailand of works on paper by Maung Day.

Utilising the aesthetic of an outsider in art, Day's iconic imagery draws on narratives and parables from Buddhist beliefs and Myanmar folklore, which he transforms to weird but critical effect. The title of this show, "Oligarchic Weather", is an oxymoronic reference to fixity and change: the powerful elitism of the former juxtaposed with the inevitable shifts of the latter. Day is interested in how change can be affected for the superstructures of our lives, as he explores and challenges pervasive ideologies and superstitions to provoke new understandings and perceptions.
