Koi Art Gallery will hold the ''Desire'' art exhibition from Friday to Sept 30. The exhibition showcases work by a group of artists led by Smai Jundasri, Todsapon Bengrun, Piya Charoenmaung, Amornthap Mahamart and Natthawoot Rangphung, who, despite sharing the same concept, reflected the meaning of desire in their own terms and perspectives.

To celebrate HM the King's 85th Birthday, Baan Silom Arcade will host the ''Baan Silom Art Contest 2012'', under the ''His Majesty's Kindness'' theme. Mathayom 1-3 students are invited to take part as a representative of his/her school (two persons per team) by using water soluble oil pastel techniques. The contest will be held at Bann Silom on Nov 15 from 9am to 4pm.
Prizes worth 15,000 baht are up for grabs. Students can send applications with a 2-inch photo to Bann Silom until Oct 26. The winning pieces will be exhibited at Baan Silom from Nov 26 to Dec 31. Email baansilomarcade@hotmail.com.

Hallucinatory and mesmerising, hysterical and incisive, ''Disco Buddha'', a photographic exhibition by Kamthorn Paowattanasuk, is a comical summation of rising public criticism of Thai Buddhist monasteries today. It is the follow-up act to ''Holy Alloy, Pearly Gates'' of 2008, Kamthorn's photographs of the real environments, bling decorations and atmosphere of temples on the outskirts of Bangkok.
