Famous Chinese painter Hsu Bin will showcase his new works to mark the Year of the Horse at CentralWorld this Friday.

'The Poetry of Nature 5' is the fifth solo exhibition in the Kingdom by the master of Chinese fine brushworks from Jiangsu Provincial Art Institute and comprises 25 exquisite paintings _ most of which depict horses in various settings.
Horses are considered auspicious animals in China, representing success and prosperity. The noble beasts are also a symbol of a happy family and signify capability, wisdom and talent.
Among the masterpieces is a painting which depicts a herd of galloping horses with peaceful gazes, strong figures and flying manes in a highly realistic manner.
The herd of horses implies a group of businesses that is led by a leader, who attracts talent from far and wide with endless success.
The portrait of a white stallion with a muscular physique features a fusion of traditional and Western artistic styles. The horse is positioned in the centre of the painting to accentuate its simplicity, vividness and vitality.
Another painting which depicts a pair of horses _ one black and one white _ recalls the Yin-Yang symbol and can be viewed as an emblem which is commonly used to improve fengshui and safeguard a residence against bad luck.
Created with gongbi, a meticulous brush technique dating back to the Han Dynasty (206BC-220AD), the collection also includes a series of lifelike paintings of flowers and other animals.
