The Innovation-Driven Entrepreneurship Center at the University of the Thai Chamber of Commerce (IDE Center by UTCC) is accepting applications for the IDE Competition 2018, designed for the next generation of entrepreneurs and start-ups.
Held with the aim of promoting entrepreneurial capabilities in order to raise Thailand's competitiveness in the global market, the second edition of the IDE Competition is comprised of three major challenges, where contestants will be competing with their business ideas. Successful teams from each challenge will be admitted to the IDE Accelerator, a four-month programme designed to help groom business plans and entrepreneurial skills, while bridging connections with investors.
The kator pleuk (peeling) competition is open to entrepreneurs whose business plans can solve major social, economic and environmental issues, while inspiring teamwork, seeking funding and developing innovative solutions.
Held in collaboration with the Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley, the Global Social Venture Competition: Southeast Asia (GSVC-SEA) is a platform for social ventures to present business plans that create a positive impact on society and provide access to funding from international investors.
The MIT Enterprise Forum Thailand (MITEF Thailand) is an opportunity for start-ups to transform their business ideas into world-changing companies, using the IDE knowledge directive from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). The winning team of this challenge will go on to a boot camp to gain more experience directly from teams of experts at MIT in Boston, in June 2018.
Applications should be made via idecenter.utcc.ac.th by Oct 15. There is no application fee.
