1 May 17 is the annual International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia (Idahot). To mark the day, Museum Siam is hosting a "Gender Illumination" exhibition to explore the history and life stories of LGBTI people in Thailand. On display are children's artworks, pride costumes and LGBTI printed media, plus personal items shared by members of the community that reflect their gender expression, as well as acceptance and rejection from society. The exhibition is open daily (except for Mondays), 10am-6pm, until Sept 30. Free admission. Suitable for people of all genders and ages.

Hunting on horseback in the vast grassland, dressing in a tribal loincloth, cooking with rocks and getting caught up in a cyclone are just some of the experiences in Ray's breathtaking journey.

3 If you need a laugh, head to the cinema to catch GDH studio's latest romantic comedy, Nong Pee Teerak (Brother Of The Year), opening this week nationwide. The film tells the story of a nosy older brother who likes interfering with his perfect little sister's life, especially whenever a guy is hitting on her. Now, their lives are even more complicated when the sister's latest beau enters the picture. The film is directed by Witthaya Thongyooyong, starring funny man Sunny Suwanmethanon, Channel 3's sweetheart Urassaya Sperbund (in her first film role) and 2PM's Nichkhun Horvejkul. In Thai with English subtitles.

5 Explore Tha Tien community of inner Bangkok this weekend with the Tha Tien Xing Tak Lak exhibition and flea market, hosted by the local community, universities, the Association of Siamese Architects and other partners. Fill yourself up with local food and drinks, shop for clothes, immerse in the arts, and later unwind with a world-famous Wat Pho massage. At night, a light installation is showcased in Pratoo Nok Yoong Alley from 6-9pm. The market starts at 6pm today and 11am tomorrow. Some parking spaces are available near Wat Pho and Museum Siam, though it's best to travel by boat to get the most of the river scenery.
