In the first part of the 25x25 (Twenty-five by Twenty-five) fashion show, the runway was ablaze with outfits in Elle's emblematic colour.
Besides the visual impact, the ear-catching score introduced musical instruments individually, such as flute, electric guitar, ukulele, temple blocks, harp and violin, before they come together as an orchestra to make magnificent sounds.
Like the unique sound of each musical instrument, each outfit represented the unmistakable style of 25 fashion houses participating in the opening show of Elle Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2019, held last Thursday night at CentralWorld.
The 25x25 fashion show also marked the silver anniversary of Elle Thailand, the country's first international women's magazine published by Post International Media. With Cindy Crawford as the cover girl, the first edition came out on Oct 27, 1994.
Five years after its debut, the glossy initiated the first Elle Fashion Week to promote the work of local designers.
"Since 1999, Elle Fashion Week has been a platform for Thai designers to present their latest collections. Elle Thailand is fashion media, and it has been our calling to encourage and support Thai designers, who will take the Thai fashion industry to the next level," said Soraya Vattanajiamwong, editor-in-chief and digital editorial director.
The fashion show celebrated this progress by presenting a variety of apparel by veteran and upcoming young designers.
Founded by Her Royal Highness Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana Rajakanya, Sirivannavari Bangkok led the 25 brands participating in the commemorative catwalk.
Iconic brands Kai, Pisit, Pichita and Tirapan along with well-established labels Asava, Greyhound, Hook's, Jim Thompson, Theatre, Tube Gallery and Vatit Itthi joined the 25th-anniversary celebrations.
Former young designers included Disaya, Kloset, Landmee', Milin, Painkiller, Sretsis, Vatanika and Vickteerut, while the new generation of designers included Archive 026, Boys of Bangkok, Meshmuseum, Vinn Patararin and Wisharawish.
"The show reflected the DNA of Elle Thailand and each fashion house," noted Soraya. "Over two decades, it's been rewarding to see former young designers who have made it big, and to introduce a new generation of designers through Elle Fashion Week."
Thailand's biggest fashion event ran for four days and presented eight other shows by Asava, Kloset, Wisharawish, Landmee', Meshmuseum, Vinn Patararin, Greyhound and the "Contemporary Southern Batik By OCAC" project.

Unveiled at Elle Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2019, the new collections contrast through their concepts, from nature's equinox and urban Bangkok to love in Paris and hardcore romance, that change the runway vibes and spice up the season's wardrobe.
