Megabangna has marked the Year of the Rat with a vibrant art installation titled "The Journey Of Mouse", which features a combination of painting and sculpture in the shape of a mouse.
The collection comprises 20 fibreglass sculptures painted in different motifs using mostly spray and acrylic by 20 Thai artists to show their unique styles and interpretations of the Year of the Rat.
They are divided into three characters -- Father Mouse, Mother Mouse and Young Mouse -- to represent the image of Megabangna as the place that serves the lifestyle of everyone in the family.
There are three sculptures of Father Mouse as tall as 2.5m each, with cute and colourful patterns on the surface. They are created by the brother and sister duo Chittakarn (aka Yaipoeng) and Thanat Suvanabhat (aka Naipran), internationally recognised street artist Piyasak "Mauy" Khiaosaard, and illustrator Phuvadol Thongnuam.
The three sculptures of Mother Mouse are 2m tall. One of them is in pink with sparkling glitters as designed by Piyanart "Kapi" Tonmalee to symbolise the bright and cheerful beginning of the year. The other two are designed by Kongsak Poonpholwattanaporn and Winai Namwong (aka Mr Fail).
A total of 14 young mice are inspired by the imagination and creativity of 14 artists. Standing 1.3m tall, they come with completely different patterns in bright colours, making the sculptures look lively.
Expect to see scoops of ice cream in the work of Jitti Jumnianwai, a mouse riding on the back of a cat portrayed by Lanmita Phansuwan, adorable elephants painted by Noppalak Suwannahong, and big-eyed girls presented by Onanong Kaewsomboon.
The mouse sculptures are on display at Mega Plaza Zone, Mega Park, Mega FoodWalk, and Sky Walk of Megabangna, Bang Na-Trat Road, throughout the year.
