After taking art lovers into her mind in her first solo exhibition early last year, Chararat Saraaporn, aka Mackcha, is back to share a moment of memory in her second show "Chalotte's Castle" which is running at RCB Galleria 2 of River City Bangkok, Charoen Krung 24, until April 28.
This time, Mackcha invites everyone to visit the castle of Chalotte, her signature young girl character in blue and white. The castle symbolises a precious treasure chest where "relationships and memories" have been kept.
They are portrayed in her paintings which might remind viewers of their own faint memories waiting to resurface. Each Chalotte drawing often shows certain hidden elements or persons, evoking memories waiting to be revisited someday.
The exhibition offers a space for reflection on the past, immersion in the present, and envisioning of the future. Just like today is reminiscent of yesterday, family and relationships shape us into who we are at this moment. Each moment in life contributes to shaping our identity at a particular time.
A whimsical creation of Mackcha, Chalotte invites profound emotions when gazed upon with intention. The artist has intricately woven her life into the tapestry of this animated girl -- through every stroke, colour and facial expression, encouraging an interpretation free from any constraints.
As a product of Mackcha's own imagination, the character reflects her very essence -- a young artist with a myriad of perspectives and dimensions.
