Premium quality crops and products by hilltribe farmers in the highlands of seven northern provinces will be presented during the "Royal Project 55" fair which will kick off on Thursday and run until Aug 13 at CentralWorld, Ratchadamri Road.
The much-anticipated fair returns under the concept of "Love For The Earth – Experience The Warmth snd Love from Our Kingdom" to mark His Majesty the King's 72nd birthday and to demonstrate our gratitude for his benevolence in continuing the Royal Project of HM King Bhumibol the Great (Rama IX) to ensure the well-being of the people of Thailand.
This year, more than 1,000 items from Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Mae Hong Son, Lamphun, Phayao, Lampang and Tak will be available at many zones across the 1st floor of the shopping centre.
The "Royal Project Marche" will bring a variety of vegetables, fruits and processed products from the Royal Project Foundation. Items include fish balls with Royal Project vegetables, fish tofu with purple yam and black sesame, fish tofu with pumpkin and mushrooms, honeycomb and honey from coffee orchards.
Expect to see skincare products made from herbs, handicraft products made from natural fabrics, and products processed from herbal plants and dried flowers.
Also set to bring their products to the fair will be many related foundations such as Friends in Need (of Pa) Volunteers Foundation, Sai Jai Thai Foundation, Queen Savang Vadhana Foundation, PatPat shop and Phufa shop. New products from Doi Kham will also be available. This is also another chance to taste the Royal Project's signature avocado ice cream, indulge in herbal teas and baked items at the Afternoon Tea zone, and enjoy stage activities including performances and cooking demonstrations by students from Kasetsart University.
A favourite zone for foodies, however, is the "Royal Project Kitchen" at Eden Zone on the 2nd floor, which will bring back famous dishes and present new recipes made from fresh ingredients from the top of the mountain.
Choices include khao soi noodles with fried trout, khanom cheen nam ngiao with pork ribs/tender chicken, avocado papaya salad, green curry with fish balls and roti, and steamed sturgeon with soy sauce.
Another highlight is the "Royal Project Bistro" which offers an exclusive Italian-style fine-dining experience specially created for this event. A four-course meal comprising 13 dishes meticulously prepared by chef Zetrong-Valasura Na Lampang, winner of MasterChef Season 6 Thailand, will be served to shoppers who spend at least 6,000 baht at the fair (or 15,000 baht within the Plaza zone). The Bistro schedules are between 2pm and 3pm, and 5.30pm and 6.30pm, daily from Aug 7-13.
The privilege is on a first-come first-served basis and shoppers can combine up to three receipts and register at the gift redemption point at the Eden zone, 2nd floor, and scan the QR code via Central Life X application, from Thursday onwards.
