Five of the world's leading luxury brands _ DVF, Kate Spade New York, Jack Spade, Pandora and Philip Stein _ introduced their autumn 2013 collections during the "Fast Forward To Fall 2013" event, organised by AT Luxury Group and Tanachira Retail Corporation, at the Oriental Residence Bangkok recently.
"For Fall 2013, DVF has come up with a collection called 'Glam Rock' _ bold, sophisticated, yet a little bit rock and roll," explained Ramida Dusdeevutikul, assistant marketing manager of DVF. "Leopard is the highlight print, while the palette is a mix of warm sienna and neutrals."
Life is a party for the DVF girl this season as she steps into the night as a rock star with her clothes as her friends, added Ramida.
"In sky-high metallic heels, she swaggers across the cityscape in a sea of dusty neutrals, dizzying prints and smooth sienna-shaded suede. Painted in stardust, she commands a sharp, metallic blazer over wild leopard-printed pants with a sleek compact clutch. Silver leggings shimmer beneath a cropped jacket embellished with flames."
Presenting the Kate Spade Fall 2013 Collection at the event was brand manager Patraorn Na Ranong.
"New York City is the inspiration. In this crazy architectural city, anything goes: soaring skyscrapers that make up the magnificent skyline, the chaos of taxicabs and bright lights of the streets _ the action never stops. This mix inspired our fall colour palette of NYC citron, empire beige, asphalt, maraschino, shocking pink and disco purple."
This season, Kate Spade New York also collaborated with witty artist Craig Redman to celebrate the brand's 20th anniversary.
Redman has created a girly version of his quirky-cool, one-eyed character Darcel Disappoints for Kate Spade, as well as playful prints that perfectly capture the electricity of the city. Models at the event showed off strong outerwear, adorable sweaters, cheeky hats and shimmering shoes from Kate Spade New York. A new signature bag, the 2 Park Avenue Beau, lovingly named for the location of the Kate Spade offices in New York City, was also presented along with book-themed minaudieres, colour-blocked satchels and oversize clutches in angular bow shapes.
For Jack Spade, the men's leading lifestyle brand founded in New York, the collection saw the brand collaborate with design icon Geoff McFetridge, and came up with new bags and totes that represent men's character.
Among the highlights are functional and stylish dipped industrial canvas coal bags.
Pandora, the unique handcrafted accessory brand, revealed its latest collection inspired by an enchanted forest. The collection portrays artistic interpretations of forest findings and fairy tales. Poetic feather jewellery and leaf-like charms embellished with glittering stones capture femininity and fragility. Mystical creatures are personified in sterling silver, and lush woodland foliage is captured in the warm, earthy stones and glass.
Luxury watch brand Philip Stein introduced the Gold & Black collection as well as the latest Round Prestige Limited Edition, all equipped with Philip Stein's own Natural Frequency Technology.
"The Round Prestige Limited Edition is a unique timepiece handmade by Stefan Kudoke, a specialist in the art of skeletonising," said Patinya Kyokong, Philip Stein brand manager. "Very few watchmakers in the world are gifted with skeletonising and Kudoke is known to be one of the best."
The 36.6mm, manual winding Round Prestige Limited Edition is equipped with mechanical movement. With 46 hours power reserve, a case made of high-grade stainless steel surrounds the visibly fascinating inner workings and a luxurious, black crocodile leather strap completes the stylish effect.
