There's leaps and bounds of fun to be had at this indoor trampoline park

SOCIAL & LIFESTYLE

Trampolines are one of those things you wished you had as a child — along with an inflatable pool and a golden retriever puppy — and probably spent half of your childhood hoping your parents would finally succumb to your pleas.

Fast forward to 20 years later and the thought of bouncing around on a trampoline still gets me giddy. So when Rockin’ Jump opened, I already had one foot out the door.

Conveniently located and easy to find, the bright orange building is adjacent to Central Rama III. The space is huge, spread out over four trampolining areas, with a mezzanine floor that’s perfect for hosting a private party or corporate event.

Now, as a failed gymnast, I wasn’t there for just a few simple hops and the occasional star jump. I was there instead to attempt some fancy moves — like a flip I’ve always wanted to do, but haven’t, in fear of the possibility of cracking my skull open on the ground. Enter Rockin’ Splash — a kick-ass area at which to do this. Fitted with three trampolines and a pool of soft foam cubes, I could run up, jump and dive in without the danger of giving myself a concussion.

Basketball fans should try Rockin’ Dunk. It was a dream come true for me, who, at about 1.5m tall, have always wanted to know what it feels like to dunk a basketball. And now we all can, with the help of a trampoline.

My favourite part of the park is the Rockin’ Dodge. The adrenalin rush of competing in a dodgeball match whilst bouncing on a trampoline is probably one of the best combination ideas I’ve come across since the invention of peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. I’d usually deny any accusation of being a competitive human being, but this game — this ridiculously fun game — got the best of me, and I found myself hurling, chucking, ducking, jumping and letting out a victorious roar every time I took someone out. Yes, even if that person happened to be a 12-year-old child. I win. You lose. End of discussion.

Whether you’re a kid or an adult who refuses to grow up, Rockin’ Jump is a place where you’ll definitely get your sporty kicks, have a blast with family and friends — and maybe rediscover how fun (or in my case, competitive) you really are.

Rockin’ Jump (428 Ratchadaphisek-Rama III Road) is open daily. For opening hours and more information, visit www.bangkok-rockinjump.com or call 02-212-0222. Parking is available.
