Ancient Songkhla fort lights up for guests
In a recent partnership with PTT Exploration and Production, the 11th Regional Office of the Fine Arts Department, Songkhla, installed lighting systems surrounding historic Fort 9 to enable tourists to explore the site until 10pm.
Situated in Singha Nakhon district, the town was known as Singora and served as a major trading port on the coast of the Isthmus of Kra during the Ayutthaya period. Sultan Sulaiman constructed a network of city walls, forts, gates and watchtowers to reinforce his troops. A range of archaic temples, ruined city walls and 14 forts were added to the list of Ancient Monuments by the Department of Fine Arts in 1992.

Beijing Olympic Park hosts light festival
Until Nov 10, China's Beijing Olympic Park will be turned into an entertainment venue for the 2024 Beijing Chaoyang International Light Festival, featuring a series of innovative light installations and nearly 300 commercial, cultural, tourism and sporting activities.
Under the theme "AI In Chaoyang", the festival showcases the achievement of Chaoyang's digital and cultural industries through avatars, AR experiences, the metaverse and interactive robots.
One of the highlights includes the immersive light artwork Tree Of Life, which links iconic landmarks including the Olympic Green, the Olympic Tower, the Bird's Nest, the Water Cube and the National Speed Skating Oval to create a visual string along the northernmost point of Beijing's Central Axis. The "trunk" connects the Central Axis with the main venue, as the "crown" is woven from vibrant light artworks, nurturing "fruits of life".
Standing on the lawn to highlight the appeal of Chaoyang, the international fair is filled with a variety of stunning artworks such as Hulahoop, Nura and Color Cubed created by artists from France and Australia.
