After 27 days and more than 230 hours on the road, Toon Bodyslam arrived in Bangkok on Sunday after well-wishers greeted him along the way from Ratchaburi.
The singer started his 73-kilometre run at Photharam district in Ratchaburi at 2am. He took Phetkasem Road to Nakhon Pathom, and turned left onto Boromratchachonnani Road in Nakhon Pathom's Nakhon Chaisi district. Twelve hours later - including breaks to recover his energy - the rock frontman reached Bangkok via Thawi Watthana district on Boromratchonnani Road.
His finish line on Sunday is the King Power headquarters in Rangnam Road near Victory Monument, which he will reach via the Krung Thon Bridge and Ratchawithi Road.
"Toon went to bed around midnight and woke up soon after 1am for today's run," one of his team members said on the kaokonlakao.com website.
Donations for his charity run campaign surpassed 410 million baht on Sunday.
Yuenyong Opakul, the leader of the band Carabao, was among well-known figures greeting him at PTT NGV station in Thawi Watthana. Yuenyong, better known as Ad Carabao, praised Toon, saying "his heart was made of steel", according to the Daily News online.
Along the way he received encouragement from supporters. "Go Pi Toon go," they shouted.
Toon, whose real name is Artiwara Kongmalai, will meet Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha at Government House on Monday and will return to the road on Tuesday. His next stop is another highlight - Suphan Buri, his home province.
Toon began his epic run in Betong district in Yala on Nov 1 and plans to reach Mae Sai district in Chiang Rai on Dec 25 -- 2,191km later. Every baht he receives in donations will go to 11 state hospitals in order to improve their patients' lives.
