Srisaket Sor Rungvisai's camp has allowed the WBC super-flyweight champion to take a break from training following his breakup with his fiancee Patchareewan Kanha.

"He is hurt and very sad," his manager Surachart Pisitwutthinan said on Saturday.

Patchareewan confirmed her split with the fighter, whose real name is Wisaksil Wangek, at a press conference on Friday, ending their 14-year live-in relationship.

Patchareewan, widely known as Kay by her nickname, claimed it was an amicable end.

They were scheduled to marry soon but Patchareewan announced their breakup on her Facebook page on Thursday.

Surachart, owner of Nakornloung Promotion, said Srisaket had not been to the camp after training on Thursday.

"He told me that he would not come to the training camp at the moment," the promoter said.

"I feel for him. I understand him and won't force him to train. We can't intervene in his personal matters. We can only respect his decision. He is not ready to talk to the press."

Srisaket, 31, did talk about the issue only once when he posted on his Facebook page saying that "I am a fool. I have never dumped anyone."

Shortly after he made the post, he deleted it.

Surachart added that he initially wanted the boxer, known in Thailand as Srisaket Nokornloung Promotion, to make his next defence of the title in August or September.

However, he said it was not likely that he would be ready to fight during that period.

"I think his next fight should take place by October," Surachart said.

Srisaket became famous worldwide when he dethroned then-unbeaten Roman "Chocolatito" Gonzalez with a majority decision at New York's Madison Square Garden in March last year.

He then knocked out the Nicaraguan in the fourth round in a rematch at StubHub Center in California in September.

After his return, he proposed to Patchareewan at Suvarnabhumi airport. He then beat Mexico's Juan Francisco Estrada at the Forum in California in February.

WBC president Mauricio Sulaiman said during his recent visit to Thailand that Srisaket told him that he wanted to fight Estrada again.
