Chatri Sityodtong has done it all in the world of martial arts.
The chairman and CEO has been at the forefront of One Championship for the past 10 years, organising over 100 events and counting.
But recently, the Chon Buri native turned his attention to the world of reality television.
Chatri, along with Refinery Media, produced the The Apprentice: One Championship Edition, which has become the first-ever show from the franchise to stream on Netflix in over 150 countries, including Thailand.
This gives Thais the chance to see the thought process of one of their own, a man who went from nothing to running Asia's largest sports media property.
Chatri got his start in business after fighting tooth and nail to get his education.
With only a few dollars a day to spare, he supported himself and his mother in the United States while working his way towards an MBA from Harvard University.
From there, he stayed in the US and worked in the financial sector on both the East and West Coasts.
All the while, however, he felt this deep yearning to do something more meaningful. So, he returned to Asia and founded One Championship.
In a short time, the organisation went from organising just mixed martial arts fights to promoting other combat sports like kickboxing and Muay Thai -- some disciplines that Chatri continues to practise to this day.
The Thai got his start in martial arts at the legendary Sityodtong Muay Thai gym in Pattaya, where he trained and competed in the art of eight limbs.
He then went on to study Brazilian jiu-jitsu and last year earned his purple belt under Master Renzo Gracie.
With a wealth of experience in both martial arts and business, Chatri brings a unique twist to The Apprentice, which is streaming on Netflix now.
