
Thailand captured two golds and one silver on the third day of the Track Asia Cup 2023 in Suphan Buri on Monday.
Norasetthada Bunma, Phetphanom Panmaung and Tanawat Saenta teamed up to win the gold medal in the men's junior team sprint event at the velodrome at Suphan Buri Sports School.
They crossed the finish line in 1:04.485 minutes. The silver medal went to the Kazakhstan cycling team, who finished in 1:10.782 minutes while the Saudi Arabia team took the bronze medal.
Aphisara Srimongkhon, Amonnat Tammakitjawat and Natcha Songkhen helped Thailand complete the double after they won the women's junior sprint event with a time of 1:14.114 minutes.
Kazakhstan's national team won the silver medal in 1:19.337 minutes.
Nattakrit Kaeonoi scored 125 points to take the silver medal in the men's junior omnium event, won by Hong Kong rider Shi Ho Cheung (151 points). Kazakhstan's Yerdaulet Yegizbay (118 points) took bronze.
In the women's junior omnium competition, Kazakhstan's Taissiya Titova captured the gold medal with 143 points.
The silver medal was won by Hong Kong cyclist Tsz Yau Liz Lai on 134 points and Alina Alessenko of Kazakhstan took bronze with 122 points.
The Uijeongbu team from South Korea won the gold medal in the men's team pursuit. The India national team and the HKSI Pro cycling team from Hong Kong took silver and bronze respectively.
Thai cycling chief Gen Decha Hemkrasri was satisfied with the performance of the Thai cyclists.
"Today we won two more gold medals and one silver and over three days we've already won five gold, six silver and two bronze medals, which I feel is a great performance from our cyclists," he said.
"With two days to go, we have a chance to win the overall trophy at the end of the tournament."
The tournament ends on Wednesday.
