Former finance minister and Kla Party leader Korn Chatikavanij has launched an international project by creating digital assets as non-fungible tokens (NFTs) to raise funds to help dogs affected by Covid-19.

Mr Korn, the co-founder and ex-chairman of the Thai Fintech Association, created NFTs, a type of digital asset developed on blockchain technology, to launch his "Mission: Pawsible" project. The tokens comprise digital art images of the 20 French bulldogs he keeps at his Bangkok home. All 20 NFTs are now up for auction and sale at "Opensea" -- the largest digital marketplace for crypto collectibles and NFTs.

Proceeds will be donated to the Dog Trust foundation in the UK and two dog foundations in Thailand: The Voice, and Dog Island. Most charities have suffered during the Covid period, not least pet welfare charities.

The Dog Trust is the largest pet welfare charity in the UK which takes care of more than 15,000 dogs a year and also provides funds to support the Soi Dog Foundation in Thailand.

The Voice Foundation and Dog Island help stray dogs in Thailand.

"My 20 bulldogs are becoming forms of digital art to raise funds to help those charities for which donations to help dogs have dried up thanks to the Covid-19 impact," Mr Korn wrote on his Facebook page.
