NAKHON SI THAMMARAT - Volunteers joined hands on Sunday to rescue a cow trapped in an unused well in a rubber plantation.

Villagers at Ban Moo 6 in Nop Phi Tam district called Pracha Ruamjain Foundation for help after they found a cow stuck in the disused five-metre-deep well and were unable to pull the animal out.

The foundation sent a crane to the area and spent more than two hours lifting the out of the well. It was then returned it to its owner, who was not identified.

Foundation coordinator Laksanan Srichan said the cow looked exhausted and could barely stand up on after it was rescued.

It was not known how long it had been stuck inside the well.
