The manufacturer has recalled one series of Klean & Kare saline solution after a hospital reported black stains on the bottlenecks, the Food and Drug Administration announced.
FDA deputy secretary-general Dr Surachoke Tangwiwat said on Monday that ANB Laboratory Co had recalled Klean & Kare saline series 061607 after black stains were noticed when bottle tops were removed.
Other series of the product were not recalled.
The stains were reported by Ramathibodi Hospital and the FDA issued a warning last Thursday in the interests of consumers' safety, he said.
The producer and the FDA were investigating the stains, he said.
