SAMUT PRAKAN: A female student at a well-known private university was seriously injured after jumping from the 5th floor of a dormitory in Bang Bo district of this central coastal province on Saturday in an attempt to take her own life, police said.
Pol Capt Jatuporn Boonprasong, a Bang Bo police investigator, said he was informed of the incident at about 6pm. Police and rescue volunteers rushed to the dormitory in Soi Bang Na-Garden in tambon Bang Bo to investigate.
When they arrived, the girl, 23, was found lying on the ground by a swimming pool with multiple injuries. She was admitted to Ruamchai Pracharug Hospital in Bang Bo district for treatment.
She was later declared out of danger.
A girl student who was her roommate told police that while she was in the bathroom she people saying that somebody had fallen to the ground. When she went out of the bathroom, she did not see her friend. She went to the corridor and saw the girl lying below.
She said her friend had previously spoken about her personal problems and she had tried to console her.
Police were investigating.
