SONGKHLA: Five people, including a young woman carrying a baby and a pregnant woman, were caught using drugs during a raid on a rented house in Thepha district on Saturday.
A team of local officials and volunteers surrounded the house in tambon Sakom on Saturday after receiving information that some people were using it to take drugs and sell speed pills and crystal methamphetamine to young people in the community.
In addition to arresting the five people found inside, authorities seized speed pills, crystal methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.
The five were house owner Pailin Saengthawee, 26; Rohanee Tiewlor, 24; Hafeesha Musoyaena, 23; Natthanicha Ongyim, 26; and a teenage boy whose name was withheld.
Ms Pailin was holding her 5-month-old baby in her lap when she was caught. It was learned that her husband is serving a nine-month jail term in a drug case. The husband of Ms Rohanee, who is eight months pregnant, is also serving a one-year prison term for a drug conviction.
All confessed to using drugs at the house regularly, officials said. They were handed over to Thepha police for further legal action.
