PRACHUAP KHIRI KHAN: Famous Chatchai market in the resort town of Hua Hin will be closed for three days from Monday after a new Covid-19 cluster emerged there.
Hua Hin Mayor Jeerawat Phrammanee said on Sunday the municipality decided to order the market closed from Monday to Wednesday after at least 30 infections were linked to the place.
He said the office decided not to immediately close the market to allow vendors time to clear their seafood products. The market will be disinfected during the closure, he added.
Hua Hin is one of the locations under a goverment plan to open for foreign tourists on Nov 1. Other places are Bangkok, Chiang Mai (Muang, Mae Rim, Mae Taeng, Doi Tao districts), Phetchaburi (Cha Am district), Pattaya and Chon Buri (Banglamung and Sattahip districts).
