Wanpen Thanathamsiri, who raised suspicions over the 260-million baht share transfers made before her brother mysteriously died, is facing a fresh lawsuit, lodged with the Crime Suppression Division (CSD), after Pol Lt Col Banyin accused her of slandering him on social media which he said meant she violated the Computer Crime Act.

Pol Lt Col Banyin insisted yesterday Ms Wanpen's claims that he asked revenue officials to inspect her company were groundless, reasoning the inspection was just “routine” and had no connection with him.

The former deputy commerce minister submitted to police a photocopy of Ms Wanpen’s conversation on the Line app as evidence.

Pol Lt Col Banyin earlier denied police accusations of forgery and involvement in the theft of Chuwong’s shares.

He believed the CSD, which is looking into the case, had rushed to compile evidence against him.

CSD police have also searched his daughters' house 27 times throughout the investigation. It was not right, said Pol Lt Col Banyin, adding that he will file complaint against CSD chief Akkaradej Pimolsri for abuse of power.

"My lawyer is drafting a complaint and will take legal action next week," Pol Lt Col Banyin said.

Chuwong was discovered dead after the car he was in crashed into a roadside tree on Chalerm Phrakiat Road in Bangkok’s Prawet district on June 26. Pol Lt Col Banyin, also Chuwong’s friend, was driving the car and sustained minor injuries.
