Authorities next week will summon 18 more celebrities for questioning over their posting of photos in which they allegedly promoted a cocktail brand on Instagram.
Saman Futrakul, director of the Office of the Alcohol Control Committee under the Disease Control Department, said on Tuesday he would send summonses to require the stars to hear and testify to charges of violating the Alcohol Control Act, Thairath Online reported.
Mr Samarn told the Bangkok Post they posted photos with Syder Bay, a ready-to-drink cocktail brand marketed by the Singha group.
The are required to reply by Nov 5. The questioning will be held between No 11 and 16, according to Thai media.
The 18 include actresses, models, singers and disc jockeys. Among them are actresses and models Sirin ''Cris" Horwang, Jaensuda Parnto, Rybena Intachai and singer Surakiart ''Pan Vamp'' Bunnag.
Earlier this month, authorities called in 24 other celebrities following complaints they posted on social media their photos showing them drinking or displaying Chang beer. Among them was Pakorn "Dome" Lam who posted a photo of himself on Instagram pouring Chang beer.
Pakorn and six other celebrities, including Waranchaya "VJ Ja" Chindarakwong and Virithipa "VJ Woonsen" Pakdeeprasong, appeared on Chang's website to promote the beer's new bottle colour.
Last week, Virithipa, well-known video jockey and actress, admitted she had been asked to promote Chang by posting a picture of herself with a bottle of the brew on her Instagram account.
