There will be no change in monetary or fiscal policies and the fiscal budget deficit will be gradually lowered, new Finance Minister Kittiratt Na-Ranong said on Thursday.
The policy on taxes will also not be changed, he added.
Mr Kittiratt, who is also a deputy prime minister, said he did not foresee any problem in overseeing the Ministry of Finance as he had been working closely with former finance minister Thirachai Phuvanatnaranubala.
He said he preferred to work at the Ministry of Finance rather than the Commerce Ministry, because he had experience in this area.
Mr Kittiratt, who was previosuly commece minister, was confident that the Yingluck cabinet 2 would be able to work up until May, at the minimum.
