A faction of the red-shirt movement forced the cancellation of a performance by a pro-People's Democratic Reform Committee (PDRC) singer in Nonthaburi late Thursday evening.

Singer, actor and television/movie director Pongpat “Aof” Wachirabunjong was scheduled to perform at Holland Brewery on Ratchapruek Road in Pak Kret district at 8pm.
But more than 100 supporters of the pro-government People’s Radio for Democracy Group (PRDG) gathered there just a few hours before the performance and asked Sompong Boonpeng, the beer house owner, to cancel the concert, saying Pongpat was a public figure who should not be politically biased, Matichon website reported.
The group, led by Chavit Suriya, also asked Mr Sompong to immediately remove a large cutout in front of the brewery that advertised the concert.
The brewery owner agreed to the request to avoid any trouble.
Pongpat and two other pro-PDRC performers — Joe Nuvo and Pongsak “Aof” Rattanaphong — have recently been forced to scrap plans to play in the provinces after local red shirts threatened to cause strife at the pubs and hotels that hired them.
