Develop home phlebotomy services to facilitate patients and relatives

Pol. Capt. Pongsakorn Kwanmuang, BMA spokesman, revealed after the BMA executives meeting on 13 July 2020, that the meeting discussed the home phlebotomy service system to facilitate patients and their relatives and reduce overcrowding in hospitals.

He said a pilot service will be provided for a group of bedridden patients who are patients in the Faculty of Medicine Vajira Hospital ready for service and have regular medical appointments. The meeting agreed to set up a working team to develop methods, formats and steps for fast and appropriate operations. A survey of the number of bedridden patients in each area will also be conducted. The first working team meeting will be held on 17 July 2020. It is projected that the service can start in August 2020. If it is successful, the service can be extended to other groups of patients and other BMA-affiliated hospitals.
