King’s College International School Bangkok promises to shape Thailand into the centre of world-class education

Opens its doors to offer the founding students excellence in all aspects with its philosophy of “a great heart takes you further”

King’s College International School Bangkok has announced that it will open its doors to welcome the founding students, ranging from Pre-nursery to Year 6, in September 2020. In parallel, the admissions process for Years 7 to 9 enrolling in August 2021 has also been initiated.

King’s College International School Bangkok is ready in every respect, including curriculum, well-selected teaching staff, building design and construction as well as purpose-built facilities of a global standard. A panel of nationally and globally distinguished governors is dedicated to leading the school to its goal: cultivating and fostering youths who will grow to become adults of great value in our society.

Prof Emeritus Dr Khunying Suchada Kiranandana, Chair of the Board of Governors of King’s College International School Bangkok, said: “King’s College International School Bangkok is the world’s third and Southeast Asia’s first King’s College School Wimbledon International School established with genuine input from King's College School, Wimbledon in Britain. King’s Bangkok aims to be among the best schools in Asia. We are dedicated in developing our students to be recognised not only for their academic excellence but also for their manners and wisdom. Our pastoral care is offered to ensure every student’s well-rounded growth and development from their very first day until graduation. Each member of staff selected for King’s Bangkok shares the same values with our partnership school in the UK.”

“Mr Thomas Banyard, the Headmaster, and some of the other teachers have previously worked at King’s College School, Wimbledon. This also enables its senior leadership team and teaching staff to join and support our team in every way. It was a great honour recently to hear that, coming from King’s Wimbledon, Penny Hughes, former Chairman of Governors, and Anna Maria Clarke, Chief Financial and Operating Officer, would join the Board of Governors here at King’s College International School Bangkok. These are individuals who have crucial roles in the everlasting global success of King’s College School, Wimbledon. Their presence ensures that unity between the two campuses is seamless at every level, and that both truly share the same standard and quality.”

Prof Dr Sakorn Suksriwong, Chairman of the Founding Team of King’s College International School Bangkok, said, “In the beginning, we searched for a British school that possesses world-class capabilities and a similar vision to ours. That vision is to foster in children the love of learning and extracurricular activities, so that they develop and grow to their full potential. The school will also ensure that they possess good manners, kindness and wisdom. Today, we are ready to welcome our founding students and their parents into the King’s Bangkok family with only the highest standards to offer. We promise to bring global success to students in Thailand and would like to thank the parents for their trust in the same values that we hold dear. We truly believe in our motto that ‘a great heart takes you further’.”

Mr Thomas Banyard, Headmaster of King’s College International School Bangkok, said, “King's College School, Wimbledon is recognised as one of the most academically successful schools in the world. It has always been among Britain’s top schools with the highest examination scores. The school strives for students’ academic achievements and the cultivation of inquisitive minds through a rich co-curricular programme. Our learning society outside classrooms is focused on three key elements: creativity, academics and sports. Alongside the curriculum is our pastoral care, where intimate and consistent care in every possible aspect is provided to each individual by teachers and mentors. Our staff have been selected carefully from over 1,500 applicants from across the world. In addition, the team in Britain and its Thailand counterpart have worked together closely to ensure the perfection of King’s Bangkok in terms of academics, activities, sanitation, safety and student wellbeing. It is a place of learning where children can grow to become versatile and valuable members of our society.”
